Who are Gary Little and Pamela Cole
After an early career in the Navy, flipping switches to program computers on Polaris Subs (pretty hard for a 6 ft plus guy), Gary went on to complete his education and begin his nonmilitary career in the computer industry. After 10 years of designing and implementing computer systems, Gary decided to use his expertise in data processing in a different way. In 1979 Gary started a recruiting and consulting business. He used the Personal Profile® in his lucrative corporate headhunting and soon saw the possibilities for computer applications and DiSC®. Since 1989, he has been involved in creating software for DiSC® users. He continues to work very closely with our international partners to create foreign language versions of the PPSS.
After exploring a career in academia and research, Pamela was hired as one of 12 women in a large international consulting firm. While she is grateful to Affirmative Action for the opportunity to begin a career in business, it was a very difficult environment even for someone who loves challenges. She learned that she had a natural skill for designing information systems. She was also encouraged by her male colleagues to do the installation training of the systems they designed because “girls talk better”. Pamela quickly discovered not only did she do a pretty good job of talking but the training field offered more flexibility and a better lifestyle than the 50 weeks a year on the road and the 14 hour days that consulting required. In 1978 she attended the first Performax Network certification along with 17 other “early adopters”. She immediately started using the Personal Profile System® in all her seminars and workshops. Ten years later, after conducting public seminars attended by over 20,000 people throughout the US and Canada, she was invited by Carlson Learning Company to develop course materials for applying DiSC® to management and supervisory training. In 1990, she developed DiSC® Management Strategies (DMS) which is still used as core training for implementing PPSS applications in organizations worldwide. During that time she also developed PPSS with Gary Little, as well as did the validation research and redesign of PPS2800®. In 2002, she developed DiSC® Indra for Inscape Publishing, Inc.
